Entry Requirements

No formal qualifications are required to join the Taster Course, either Foundation Diploma, or the Pet Owner Workshop - they're designed for complete beginners. The Intermediate Diploma builds on foundation-level skills.

Prerequisites for the Advanced Styling Course: contact us before booking if you're unsure whether your current skill level is the right fit.

Typical Daily Schedule

Courses run within salon opening hours, Monday - Friday, 9am - 3pm.

Class Size

Training is one-to-one or one-to-two - you'll never be one of a large class, and you'll get direct, hands-on tuition throughout.

Tools & Materials

All tools and materials are included in the course price. Students needing their own scissors or clippers can browse the Groom Room Store.

Dogs & Breeds You'll Work With

Training happens hands-on, on real client dogs passing through the working salon, across a variety of breeds, sizes and coat types - not on mannequins or a fixed practice list.

What's Not Included

Accommodation is arranged separately and isn't included in the course price - see student accommodation for details. Travel, personal grooming tools and meals are not included unless agreed otherwise.

We don't run a fixed public course calendar - dates are arranged directly around what suits you and the salon's schedule. Get in touch to check upcoming availability.

Payment & Support After Training

Payment process and deposit terms: a non-refundable deposit of €500 is required to secure your course placement. A payment link will be sent to you after a brief onboarding process.

Support after training: additional extra training can be booked later, of course, but Jodie's always on her phone, and you can join our WhatsApp group with ex-students to share experiences, ask questions and support each other.

What award does the student receive?

Depends on the course: a Certificate of Attendance, a Certificate of Completion, or a Diploma. These are internal awards issued by Jodie's Groom Room International Training Centre, not an externally accredited or regulated qualification.

Are the courses taught in English?

Yes.

Is accommodation available?

Yes - self-contained bungalow accommodation is available nearby for students travelling to train. See the accommodation page for details; it's booked and priced separately from the course.
